"Wacken 31.07 – 03.08.2008"
W:O:A, we had been there – and have survived! At 24.08.08 we started with some deviations, in total +/- 640 km one way.
01.08.08: Finally we managed to get hold of our tickets and so Robin and I were able to participate the concert from Friday onwards. Unfortunately the most popular for me most interesting band Iron Maiden had already played on Thursday (which I didn’t knew in advance).
This is the incorrect greeting in the Metal-Scene:
OK, so the old bastard has to show his son how to do it properly.
Even though it had been more than 70.000 visitors it was not a too big problem to get right into the „battle-zone“.
A photo of Robin with still some blurs and sores after he had participated the „Wall of Death“ (clothing already changed and destroyed! J).
But it was as well possible to relax!
Although there were enough nice places in dry environment!
Rough guess but if the „f“-word would exist the song-texts and speeches of the bands would be 50% shorter!! Want a typical phrase? „Hello f...ing motherf...ers, f...ing f…ing around?“
You will not have any problems if you forgot to have an after-dinner-walk – just get in front of the loudspeakers and their bass will cause enough movement in your stomach. J

Even though I was a little bit suspicious in the beginning against Metal it was really impressive and big fun finally - not only for me and Robin:
As far as I know mud packs are healthy!
And there had been intimite moments:
We already had an early leave on Saturday evening at 22:00h and made an intermediate stop in my old home tome Niedenstein and shared a nice breakfast with family Leuchter – my former second home whilst childhood.
